The hot pavement Monday may have added to the enthusiasm the frogs and turtles displayed during the annual races following the Labor Day parade.
The winners of the frog hopping contest were Archer Martin first; Frances Martin, second and Max Martin third.
Winning the turtle race were entries by Zane and Leah Black, first; Madalyn Austin, second and the Benton family came in third.
Those races were followed by the youngsters cooling down at the fish scramble. They were seeking gold fish in hopes of winning various prizes from the Henryetta fire department.
