Frank Garcia, Henryetta, died Sept. 7, 2019 at the age of 95. He was born June 12, 1924 in Bastrop, Tex., to Juan and Lola (Quellar) Garcia.
On April 20, 1943 at the age of 19 years old he enlisted in the United States Army, he fought in WWII, receiving the EAME Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart Award, Silver Star Medal/Meritorious Unit Award and World War II Victory Medal. Frank received an honorable discharge on November 23, 1945.
After returning home from the war he was hired as a foreman for an agriculture company.
Frank is survived by his daughter: Eufemia Tyree of Napa, ID, Rebecca Crawford of Patterson, CA, Soledad Garcia of Rialto, CA, Louisa Garcia of Atoka, and Alma Garcia of Henryetta; sons: Lupe Garcia of Bakersfield, CA, Steven Garcia of Henryetta, and Giovanni Garcia of Italy; stepchildren: Tina Blevins of Pratt, KS, Maria Watson of Henryetta, Mario Rodriquez of Albuquerque, NM and Robert Rodriquez of Dallas; brothers: Isaac Garcia and Plutarco Garcia both of Texas; sister, Isabel Garcia Brownfield, TX; 50 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sabrina Garcia on March 2, 2019; sons, Lalo Sambrano, Frank Garcia, Jr., Nolberto Garcia; sister, Aurora Garcia; brothers, Reynaldo Garcia, Juan Garcia and Rafael Garcia; nephews, Abel Garcia and Michael Garcia.
A Celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2019 at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Chaplain Forrest Kirk officiating. Military honors will be observed.
