Upland hunters and conservationists will be gathering in Henryetta Sept. 24 at 6:30 pm at Shoney’s to continue to reorganize a local chapter of Quail Forever/Pheasants Forever, for this area.birds
Individuals interested in maintaining upland habitat, creating public access and providing outdoor opportunities for area youth are encouraged to attend. The organization is targeting Okmulgee, Okfuskee, Hughes and McIntosh counties for the project.
Oklahoma Quail Forever and Pheasants Forever chapters have invested locally in Oklahoma more than $360,413 in habitat improvements, restoration, youth outreach, and landowner education and outreach activities since forming the first chapter in 2005. This would be one of 19 chapters in Oklahoma representing East Central Oklahoma.
