Here is a letter received by the Chamber of Commerce regarding the Jim Shoulders Living Legends Rodeo this year:
Dear Henryetta Chamber of Commerce and Jim Shoulders Living Legends Rodeo Committee:
My husband, Donny, and I want to thank you and congratulate you for producing a great PRCA rodeo.
As a contestant, I appreciate the renovations and upgrades of your facility. The new lighting should be the standard for every outdoor rodeo. The new bucking chutes provide a beautiful base for the catwalk silhouettes. And, oh, what a great idea to stage the old chutes for a gathering/photo opportunity spot for spectators.
Being greeted at the entrance gate by a smiling, helpful, friendly person who seemed genuinely glad we were attending the rodeo and competing, made the 300-mile trek across Oklahoma seem less tiresome. So the Saturday night guy… tell him good job.
I won the barrel racing event. I could not be more proud. I grew up watching Jim Shoulders compete as he neared the end of his rodeo career. I will be 60 years old next month. I have a fiercely competitive young barrel racing mare. Guess we will see where this ride goes.
Monty Stueve called the arena action and involved the audience. It was a family friendly event and evening for all.
So, yes, my husband and I agree, the Saturday night performance could not have been a more perfect pro-rodeo event.
Always racing,
Tamara Reinhardt.
