Burt K. " Nub" Martin, a resident of Henryetta, died Oct. 25, 2019 in Henryetta at the age of 99. He was born Sept. 28, 1920 in Gas City, Okla. to Fred Amandred Martin and Della Viola (Hahn) Martin.
Burt proudly served his country enlisted with the United States Army Air Force and was a veteran of WWII.
He married the love of his life, Wilma Jean Williams Dec. 14, 1946 in Okmulgee. Burt was a longtime member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. He was also a longtime Gideon with the Okmulgee Camp.
He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Martin, his mother, Della Craig, his wife Wilma Martin, brothers, Junie Martin, Elmer Martin, Roy Martin, Billy Martin, his sisters, Hester Martin Beasley, Zora Martin, Opal Martin Seago and Helen Martin Vance.
He is survived by his daughter, Sue Ann Martin of Henryetta; son, Duane Martin & wife Donna of Inola; grandchildren, Cari Ann Stanton & companion Leo Harley and son, Marcus, Jennifer Miller of Inola, Ken Meyer & wife Shana of Broken Arrow, Julie Martin Wolfkill & husband John of Denver, Colo., David Martin of Inola; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Okmulgee Camp Gideons will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence Matlock & Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow in Morris Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
