Carl Wayne Byrd, a resident of Dewar, died Nov. 3, 2019 in Dewar at the age of 68. He was born April 9, 1951 in Okmulgee to Isam James Lewis Byrd and Effie "Marie" (Farmer) Byrd.
He was preceded in death by his father, Isam Byrd, brothers, Jonathan, Jimmy, Michael, and Harold Byrd, a grandson, Ethan James Byrd, and a son-in-law, Tom E. Nunn.
Carl is survived by his wife Pat Byrd of the home; son, Carl Wayne "Tubby" Byrd Jr.; two daughters:, Elizabeth (Byrd) Nunn and Jonell Byrd; grandchildren: Averie "Hot Rod" Byrd and Brady "Motor Mouth" Byrd; mother, Marie Byrd; brothers: Troy Byrd, and Charles Byrd and Sheila Starr; sisters: Vanessa Knight, Kathy Doyle, and Dona Powell; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Carl Byrd Jr., Troy Byrd, Charles Byrd, Bub Connors, David Ingram, and Rick Knight.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Brady Byrd, Isam Byrd, George Powell, James Connors, tom Delso, Casey McIntosh, and Lester Sullivan.
Viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, and Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Integrity Chapel with Casey McIntosh and Lester Sullivan, officiating. Interment will follow at New Sonora Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
