truck fire

Eledtrical problems are being examined to see if that was the cause of a fire that destroyed a semi late Tuesday night. The westbound semi caught fire near the 239 mile marker on Interstate 40. According to investigators, the driver said he saw sparks coming from the dashboard on the truck shortly before the blaze started. By the time emergency crews could get on the scene the entire cab portion of the truck was engulfed in flames. Several large explosions could be heard as tires exploded and fuel tanks ruptured. The driver escaped without injury. Workers had one lake of traffic closed while they unloaded the contents of the trailer.
