An abandoned house on South Ninth Street was destroyed in a late-night fire Tuesday. The fire is believed to have been intentionally set with some neighbors saying they smelled gasoline when they walked up on the scene. Fire chief David Bullard said the building was "totally involved" by the time fre trucks arrived on the scene and did acknowledge that some type of accellerant ahd to be used to cause such extensive burning. Siding on two neighboring houses was melted due to the heat and a large picture window on a third house was broken out due to the fire.
