Wilson Gene King Sr, a resident of Okmulgee, died April 2, 2020 in Okmulgee at the age of 86. He was born May 6, 1933 in Holdenville to Mary (Pigeon) Soweka.
Wilson was the past 2nd Chief Hickory Ground Ceremonial Grounds, he was the deputy sheriff in Mcintosh County in 1977.
He is preceded in death by his wife Wanda (West) King; one son, Frank Bemore; one grandchild, Anthony Thomas; his mother, Mary (Pigeon) Soweka; one sister, Sally Wallace; and his uncle, Johnny Pigeon.
He is survived by nine children: Linda Bemore of Okmulgee, Allen King of Okmulgee, Bobby King of Okmulgee, Wilson Gene King Jr (Karen) of Okmulgee, Jo Ann Harjo (Steve Wind) of Okmulgee, Dewaynea King of Morris, Lisa Sands (Clifford) of Okemah, Jimmy King (Dana) of Weleetka, and Christine King (Charley Hicks) of Henryetta; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Joe Soweka of Henryetta; and his Special Niece, Bonnie Soweka.
Limited viewing will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Integrity Chapel (limited to 10 or less at a time)
A private service will be held.
