Lonie (Beaver) Tapia, 76, a resident of Hanna, died May 16, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on March 7th, 1944 in Talihina to Tom Beaver and Leaster (Cummings) Deo. Lonie left Hanna at a young age. She attended Haskell Indian School until her graduation. She moved to New Mexico at the age of 18 then on to Seattle, Washington. She lived in Washington for 47 years until she moved back to Hanna.
Lonie married Arnie Tapia May 21, 1983. She worked for Green River Community College in Auburn, Washington until her retirement April 30, 1999.
Lonie was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Joe Archuleta, son John Leo Archuleta, four sisters: Juanita Kelly, Nancy Bruner, Joyce Bark and Izora Carter.
She is survived by her husband, Arnie, of the home; three sons: Gil Archuleta and wife Shirley of Renton, Washington, Arnie Tapia Jr and wife Cori of Texarkana, Tex., and Harold Jerome Tapia of Lawton; sister Kay Murray of Hanna; eight grandchildren: Tina Archuleta and Joey Archuleta of Washington, Chantelle Hampton, and Chera Fulton of Washington, Zacharee, Jacob and Austin Tapia and Erin Butler; nine great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Viewing will be from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2020.
Wake Service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday May 20, 2020 at Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hanna First Baptist Church in Hanna.
Interment to follow at Hanna Cemetery
