chase

Just a couple of days after Henryetta police were involved in a high-speed chase that spanned two counties and several hours, another driver tried to outrun them.
Thursday afternoon Henryetta officer Joey Cantrell was on patrol on Frisco Avenue when he spotted a vehicle coming toward him at a high rate of speed. Cantrell turned around and chased the motorists east on Frisco until the car left the roadway and spun out on some grass at the Frisco Apartments.
Cantrell said the driver jumped from the vehicle and tried to run away on foot but he was quickly caught.
The driver was said to have several outstanding warrants but, instead of being taken to jail, was taken to a psychiatrict center for a mental evaluation
A passenger in the car remained at the scene and, after questioning, was released
