A short, three-minute public meeting covering the FY 2020-21 city budget was held Monday at noon with only four council members and four city employees present.
The  meeting is required to give members of the public an opportunity to go over the proposed income and expenses for the coming year.
Bruce Jones addressed the council about the idea of placing a concession building at Nichols park that would provide snacks as well as swimming toys and fishing tackle.
"I know it is too late  for this year's budget," he said, "but for the next budget year, please consider placing a building at Nichols," he said. He proposed the building could be staffed by a couple who could also watch over the park.
Mayor Jennifer Munholland said commercial operations could not be held here but Jones reminded her that the swimming bathhouse was operated by coach Marion Anglin for a number of years. He said research into that issue can be done between now and the next budget year.
