Two people from Muskogee County are being sought in connection with the theft of a Jeep from a car lot in Henryetta early Monday morning.
According to police chief Steve Norman, the man and woman broke into the office at Dickey’s Car lot on East Trudgeon shortly after 4 a.m. then drove off in the vehicle. Nothing was believed to have bene taken from the office.
The occupants were spotted by police but were able to elude officers when they drove east on the abandoned Frisco railroad tracks toward Dewar.
The two were said to have been staying at a motel near the car lot and left a pickup truck there. Investigation revealed the pickup was stolen from Muskogee and was loaded with a large amount of construction tools said to have been taken from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
Norman said there is video of the pair at the motel and two people around the car lot at the time of the theft. The suspects are said to be from the Muskogee area and have warrants out for their arrest in that county on other charges.
