Mona Diane Pollard Tarkington, a resident of Dewar, died Dec. 20, 2020 at the age of 61. She was born Dec. 3, 1959 in Okmulgee to Bobby G. Britt and Velma (Brison) Britt.
She was a graduate of Dewar High School Class of 1978 and was a dedicated, lifetime member of the Dewar United Pentecostal Church.
Mona owned and operated Mona's Rose of Sharron Restaurant in Henryetta. She worked as a cooked for many church functions, campmeetings, youth camps and other church functions.
She retired this year from Dewar Public Schools. She is preceded in death by her mother, Velma Britt, her first husband, Paul Pollard, her second husband Rick Tarkington, Otis Pollard, Christine Pollard, Bill and Evelyn Brown and Vinson Tarkington.
She is survived by two children, Christy Jeffcoat and husband Jonathan of Henryetta and Danielle Helm of Dewar; her father, Bob Britt of Dewar; grandchildren: Trystan Jeffcoat, Chrystan Jeffcoat, Michael Helm, Gabriel Helm, Ricky Tarkington and wife Lori, Jeff Tarkington and wife Brenda, Jentry Bain and husband Kerry, Daniel Tarkington and wife Jamie, Jordan Tarkington and wife Janie; brother, Monty Britt and wife Tammy of Dewar; sisters-in-law, Pam Mozarko and husband Mike, Sheryl Hunt and husband Alfred; brother-in-law, Bryon Pollard; also by a host of friends, family and her beloved church family.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020 at Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin officiating. Interment will follow in New Sonora Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
