Alice Riley Harjo, a resident of the Graham Community, died Dec. 24, 2020 at the age of 100. She was born Jan. 31, 1920 in Henryetta to Amos and Nellie (West) Riley. Alice moved with her husband Alvin and family from the Graham vicinity to Seminole Little community in 1967 and resided till 2006. While living in Little, Alice was an Arts and Crafts instructor for the Seminole Tribe and teacher’s aide at the Prairie Valley Elementary School in the early 1970’s. Alice is a member of the Thewarlee Indian Baptist Church where she served as the Women’s Leader for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin, brother Lewis Riley, sisters: Sally Watson, Susie Riley, Wynema Riley and Onnie Riley.
She is survived by her children: Wisey Ann Harjo of Tahlequah, Rebecca Coyote of Norman, Annette Harjo of Henryetta, Geraldine Evans of Norman and David Harjo and wife Sarita of Tecumseh; grandchildren: Kristen Evans, Heith Harjo and wife Dene’, Jeremy Harjo and Kelly Evans and wife Lynne; reat Grandchildren: Dani and Frankie Kopaddy.
No wake service is scheduled.
Private family graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at the Harjo Family Cemetery south of Henryetta under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
