Charles Edward Sparks a resident of Dustin, died Jan. 13, 2021 at the age of 74. He was born May 19, 1946 to William Edward “Pete” Sparks & Betty Ann Masengale Sparks in Hanna. He Graduated from Dustin High School in 1964 and joined Army at age 20 and served at NATO – SHAPE headquarters in Moans, Belguim. After his service, he acquired a BA from East Central University, Ada. He married Patsy McDougal in McAlester May 2, 1975. Charles practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for over 45 years. He enjoyed doing his civic duty by serving on many community boards. In 1989, started raising registered cattle and quarterhorses.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patsy Sparks of the home; children: Tara Sondergaard and husband Brian Gooch of Kingsburg, Calif., Lylah Sparks and fiancé Jason Miller of Dustin, Charles Sparks and wife Natalie of Weatherford, Tex.; brother: Jim Sparks of Morris; grandchildren: Matthew Edgerly, Kirsteen Edgerly Cabral, Desiree Sparks, Jasper Trickett, Jake Sondergaard, Olivia Sparks, Afrieune Sparks, and Alexander Sparks; great grandchild: Aiden Wise.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at the Dustin Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
