Timmy "Doc" Thompson, a resident of Henryetta, died Jan. 27, 2021 in Tulsa at the age of 75. He was born Jan. 25, 1946 in Henryetta to George Thompson, Sr. and Bessie (Fife) Thompson. He married Joyce Davis May 27, 1969 in Henryetta.
He was a member of the Hickory Ground Ceremonial Grounds and retired from Creek Nation as a Language Specialist with the office of Historic Preservation.
He was a proud United States Veteran serving with the United States Marines during the VietNam War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Bessie Thompson, his wife, Joyce Thompson, two sons, Kendall Thompson and Orlando Benally, brothers Arthur Powell and Johnny Fry.
He is survived by a daughter, Tina Dee Thompson of Henryetta; five grandchildren: Tamiko Hill and husband Tyler of Henryetta, Deion Dee of Henryetta, Monica Williams of Texas, Emily Fixico of Tulsa and Nokose Harjo of Henryetta; four great grandchildren: Shaunry Thomas Jr., Tamry Thomas, Mikaysha Thomas, and Tyliana Hill; brother, George Thompson, Jr. and wife Nora of Henryetta; sister, Sally Nusbaum of Bristow; also by a host of friends and other relatives.
Wake services are scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1 at Integrity Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Junior Whitlow, Waylon Gray, Mike Harjo, Roman Powell, Clem George, and Alan John. Honorary pallbearers will be Deion Dee, Shaunry Thomas, Jr., Tyler Hill, Charles Slinker, George Thompson, Jr., James Dee, Keith Nasbaum, and OCE VPOFV Warriors.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 at Integrity Chapel with Grover Wind officiating. Interment will follow in Harjo Family Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
