Roy Edward Madden, a resident of Weleetka, died Feb. 2, 2021 in Weleetka at the age of 73. He was born Sept. 15, 1947 in Holdenville to Leonard Ray Madden and Hazel Jean (Mangrum) Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a Henryetta icon, working as the Executive Director of the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce for several years. A retired military veteran, he was involved in the sport of rodeo and was instrumental in starting up the annual Jim Shoulders Living Legends Rodeo held each Labor Day weekend. This past year he was inducted into the Military Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame.
Roy is survived by his wife, Lisa Madden of the home; son, Justin Madden and wife Tami of Indianola; daughter, Salina Ron and husband Chantal of San Diego; son, Jeht Thixton and wife Shia of Methow, Washington; grandchildren: Kolbe, Zane, Cade, Senya, Riddick, Sterling, Shelby, and Skylar; brother, Larry Whitlock and wife Sylvia of Garden Grove, California,
as well as a host of friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
