Edith Verlene Orum, a resident of Henryetta, died Feb. 20, 2021. She was born Dec. 14, 1926 to Richard D. and Minnie E. (Walker) Akins in Quinton=. Verlene was married to Raymond G. Orum Oct. 3, 1944 in Seminole.
Verlene was a housewife for many years. She was a licensed E.M.T and worked at Haskell County Hospital for 20 years. She moved to Henryetta where she worked at Bushman’s Shoes until they closed. She was a devout Christian who attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church most of her life.
Verlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers, Glen, Bill, Bob, and Don, as well as her sister-in-law Theresa Akins.
She is survived by two brothers: Jerry and Kay Akins of Cushing and Jimmy and Debbie Akins of Jenks; Alysha Spangler, who was like a daughter to her, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Viewing for Verlene will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 at Integrity Chapel. Interment will be in Silome Springs Cemetery near Stigler under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
