Donald Franklin Murray, a resident of Hoffman, died Feb. 21, 2021 in Hoffman at the age of 83. He was born April 1st, 1937 in Hoffman to Homer Murray and Opal (McNeil) Murray.
Don was a proud veteran serving with the United States Navy. He worked as a meat cutter for many years in supermarkets. He was a member of the New Covenant Church in Grayson. He married Ruby Burney Aug. 17, 2018 in Okmulgee.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Phyllis, and a son, Ricky Don Murray, a sister, Maxine Nuckolls, and a great niece, Judith Dailey.
He is survived by his wife Ruby of the home; four grandchildren: Christy Sanders and husband Steve of Sand Springs, Corey Medlock and husband James of Coweta; Shana Newsom and husband Larry of Arkansas; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren;two nieces which he considered his little sisters: Judy Smith of Dewar and Barbara Swem and husband Clay of Henyretta; nephew, Jake Mahan; three step children: Bo Burney, Lucky Burney and Eboni Burney; five step grandchildren; one step great grandson; also a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Viewing for Don will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be, Steve Sanders, James Medlock, Elijah, Lapham, David Mann, Bo Burney, and Lucky Burney. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Booth, Ray Sullins, Randy Knox, and Tooty Morris.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Virgil Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Hoffman Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
