arson

A grass fire charred over 25 acres and posed a danger to several homes and barns Tuesday afternoon south of Henryetta. The fire was believed to have been intentionally set along a county road between Mulberry and Locust. Firemen from the Plainview Volunteer Fire Department spent several hours getting the blaze under control and putting out hot spots. They were hampered by a strong south wind that swept the flames through dry grass and underbrush. The area has been troubled by a number of fires being started by an individual or individuals driving along the county roadways. Firemen are asking residents to keep an eye out for anyone setting those fires.
