Bobby Joe Jones, a longtime resident of Henryetta, died Feb. 26, 2021 at the age of 83. He was born April 4, 1937 in Hitchita to Elzie Henry and Evelyn Irene (Sparks) Jones. Team roping was his passion and was a member of the United States Team Roping Association. He managed a plumbing business and retired from Ford Glass in 1998.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother James Monroe Moncrief; sisters Joyce Aleen Miller, Sue Owens and husband Benny and his first wife Darla Kaye Gipson Paquette.
He is survived by his wife; Alice Jo of the home; sons: Monty Jones of Owasso and Mike Jones and wife Tricia of Broken Arrow; daughter Kelly Bailey and Husband Leo of Broken Arrow; brothers: Bill Jones and wife Barbara and Kenny Jones of Henryetta; step children: Carol Bean and Husband Allen; Theresa Moore and husband Dave, John Michael Doneti and Terry Dennison and his dedicated compassionate caregiver Paul Monroe Cunningham (grand nephew); 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; many nieces, nephews, other family and a lifetime of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Peavler, officiating. Services are under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
