Lena VanMeter, a lifelong resident of Henryetta, died June 1, 2015 at her home in Henryetta at the age of 92. She was born Feb. 15, 1923 in Henryetta to Jules Ricco and Katie (Niccolino) Ricco.
Lena married Cecil VanMeter Dec. 21, 1942 in Henryetta.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil in 2007, her parents, Jules and Katie Ricco, brothers, Leo Ricco, Max Ricco, JImmy Ricco and Fred Ricco, by sisters, Margaret Davis and Theresa Barcellino.
Lena is survived by her daughter, Sharon Marshall and fiance Perry Oberle of Nixa, Missouri, daughter, Donna Steves and husband Henry of Henryetta; grandchildren, Darla Berry and husband Frank of Rogersville, Missouri, Sheri Freeman and husband Smokey of Henryetta, Ken Marshall and wife Linda of Springfield, Missouri, Stephen Palmer of Chandler, and Michael Palmer and Lee VanDyke of Henryetta; great-grandchildren, Rayce Freeman, Katie Carroll, Tyger Freeman, Skyler "Free" Palmer, Amber Lee Reid, and Shawnda Reid, as well as two great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 3 and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 4 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 PM, Friday, June 5, 2015 at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta with Rev. Michael VanMeter, officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
