The Henryetta Lady Knights golf team is the fifth best in 3A Oklahoma.
Playing at Westwood Park in Norman, the girls, Skylar Smallwood, Lottie Johnson, Skylar Morris, Emily Stockholm and Mabrey Been posted a two-day 759 score.
“We were dealing with wind and tee boxes that were placed farther back on the second day,” said coach Dutch VanDenBorn. “That placement brought several hazards into play.”
He went on to say he was proud of the way the girls finished. Smallwood posted back to back rounds of 86, her personal best of the year.
Johnson shot an 87 on the first day then ended up with a 106 score on day two of the tournament for a 193 total.
Stockholm, Henryetta’s senior team member, opened her tournament appearance with a 95 then shot a 106 on day two for a total of 201.
Been made her first state appearance with rounds of 99 and 103 for a combined 202 total.
Morris missed the opening day to play in the state softball tournament and was given a 100 score. She came back on the second day with a 97.
Plainview was the state champion with 628 for the two days followed by Oklahoma Christian School with 638.
