The Henryetta Lady Knights got their bats working in the fourth inning to take a season opening 11-1 win over Checotah Monday.
Checotah scored the only run in the first inning on a fly to left. hhs softball
Henryetta answered that in the second with a pair of RBI hits, one a ground ball to center scoring Katelyn Dwiggins then followed by a sacrifice grounder that brought Brooklyn Baughman home.
After a quiet third inning, the Lady Knights stormed back with Skylar Morris scoring on a ground error then Kasedi Gobin slammed a triple to right that was good for runs by Kenleigh Miller, Jaylyn Joslin and McKayla Greenhaw.
Seven more runs would be tallied by the Lady Knights before that inning was finished.
HHS senior Avery Miller won the game from the circle for Henryetta. She allowed only two hits and one run. During the evening, she threw five strikeouts and allowed only one walk.
