An early Monday morning house fire on Gum Street has been called arson according to Henryetta fire chief David Bullard.
He said the house had been vacant for over ten years and was in bad structural shape. No utilities were in use at the house.
By the time firemen arrived at the scene, the house was heavily involved and, once it was determined no one was inside, a decision was made to let it burn completely.
This is the second similar house fire within three days but the fire chief said he does not feel a serial arsonist is at work. That Friday fire completely destroyed part of an abandoned house on 12th Street.
A third vacant house burned last spring and was also believed have been set.
