A 27-year-old Okmulgee man was said to have led Henryetta police on a chase to that ended near Clearview Tuesday night.
Henryetta police reports say Clinton Primeaux was said to have been the driver of a car that initially had been stopped for a traffic violation in Henryetta.
police carPolice chief Steve Norman said the vehicle was observed leaving a known drug house and was stopped by officer Paul Brown Tuesday night.
He said several people. Got out of the vehicle which then sped off starting the pursuit.
“Close to Clearview he went into a ditch then came out and rammed one of our police cars head on,” Norman said. Primeaux was said to keep his vehicle moving then struck another police car. About a mile from that crash, he is alleged to have pulled into a construction site then left the vehicle and tried to run away on foot.
Once apprehended, Primeaux was taken to the Okmulgee County jail but, because he is an enrolled tribal member, he was released.
“We are waiting to see if the FBI will seek charges,” Norman said. Deliberately running into the police vehicles with another car can result in charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
Officers Brown and Brice Cook were uninjured in those crashes.
