The HHS Lady Knights are hoping the winning momentum continues Thursday when the host Meeker in the district tournament. Gametime is 1 p.m.
As a prelude to that best of three series, Henryetta posted a perfect night with back to back wins over Bristow and Cushing Tuesday.
Playing at Bristow, the Lady Knights started off the series with a 6-2 win over Cushing then capped that off with a 10-0 shutout in the Bristow game.
Senior Avery Miller caused a lot of grief in the Cushing dugout as she had four hits in her four appearances at the plate. She had singles in the first, second and sixth innings with a fourth inning home run to spice things up.
The Henryetta scoring started in the first inning with a sacrifice fly by Shelby Kilhoffer scored a run. Singles by Jaylynn Joslin and Avery Miller scored two more Henryetta runs in the second. Kinley Miller had a third inning grounder to add another run for the Lady Knights.
Cushing would get on the board in the fifth with an RBI then a sacrifice fly for a run in the seventh.
The Lady Knights would post a total of 15 hits in the game. Miller, Shannon Corkerin, Kassidy Lee, Brooklyn Baughman, and Jalynn Joslin each had multiple hits. Pitching for Henryetta was Katelyn Dwiggins who allowed eight Cushing hits.
In the Bristow game, Henryetta took command early with five runs in the first inning then added two each in the second and third with the final run scored in the fourth. Avery Miller went yard in the second inning to left field scoring Dwiggins. During the game, Jaylynn Joslin, Kassidy Lee and Dwiggins would post multiple hits during the game. Dwiggins, Lee and Joslin all had two hits each during the four-inning contest.
Henryetta would have 11 hits in the game while Bristow only managed four.
