The Henryetta public library has a new addition this week.
Several 8 mm reels of movie film were discovered recently sitting on a shelf but no one knew what they were and the library does not have the equipment readily available to view them.
Henryetta chamber of commerce board members approved a plan to have that film converted into digital images and Tuesday, those digital movies were presented to the library board president Robin Lollis and librarian Joann Hott.
When the digital versions of the film was returned to Henryetta, it was discovered they included an hour-long movie covering Henryetta in 1939, color film of the 1954 Labor Day parade and a black and white film of the 1957 Labor Day parade.
The library board will be setting up a policy to allow the public to view those movies. Making the presentation was chamber board member Bruce Jones.
