A body found in a pasture near Nichols Park has been identified as a North Carolina man missing since Saturday.
According to county sheriff Eddy Rice, the man, Jeremy Daniels, was in a vehicle crash on the Indian Nation turnpike south of town. He said it is believed Daniels, 21, left the scene of the accident and was trying to walk to town.
The body was found near a barn just north of Nichols Park. The Oklahoma medical examiner was called to the scene and will determine the cause of death.
Sheriff Rice said no foul play was suspected in the death. “This was a tragic accident that claimed the life of a young man,” he said.
Daniels was said to have been on his way back to North Carolina when the accident happened.
