Eufaula used a strong third inning to take a 4-0 win against Henryetta Monday night.
For the first two innings it was a defensive matchup with both teams getting runners on second and third but unable to put that one hit into play for a score.
The Lady Ironheads scored three runs in the fourth off a double and two singles for a 3-0 lead.
In that same inning, it appeared as though the Lady Knights would get on the board with Brooklynn Baughman trying to steal home from third. She was thrown out before she could make it on a long throw from right to the Eufaula catcher.
An RBI in the top of the sixth provided the fourth and final run for Eufaula.
Henryetta could not recover even though the Lady Knights put four people on base in the sixth and seventh frames.
Both teams had six hits in the game. Killhoffer and Rex shared pitching duties. Kilhoffer struck out three Lady Ironheads while giving up five hits and walking three.
Eufaula’s pitcher struck out six Lady Knights and walked two.
