For the most part, Okmulgee County voters went along with the rest of the results in Tuesday’s runoff election.
The two exceptions were in the race for Labor Commissioners between Leslie Osborn and Sean Roberts and the U.S. Representative race between Avery Frix and Josh Brecheen.
While Osborn won the state vote 143,886 to 127,526, county ballots favored Roberts by a slight margin Roberts received 1,170 votes compared to 1,116 for Osborn.
Frix carried the county with 1,192 votes compared to 1,158 for Brecheen. Statewide, Brecheen was the winner with 33,507 votes compared to 30,674 for Frix.
The largest margin of victory in the county went to Markwayne Mullin with 1,839 votes compared to 530 for T.W. Shannon. Both were viewing for the unexpired term left by U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe who is retiring.
Mullin won the runoff by a nearly two to one margin. He received 18,3034 votes in the district compared to 98,215 for Shannon.
The local returns included
State Treasurer: Todd Russ 1,388, Clark Jolley 884.
State Superintendent of Schools: Ryan Walters 1275, April Grace 1,067.
Corporation Commissioner: Kim David 1,302, Todd Thompson 950.
On the democrat ballot Madison Horn carried Okmulgee County with 508 votes compared to 360 for Jason Bollinger 360. Horn also won the district with 60,896 compared to 32,098.
