The September sales tax check for Henryetta was not as great as August but it still was an improvement over a year ago.
This month the town received $300,173.72, a gain of $24,499.30 from last year. In August the town set a new all time record in sales tax collections amounting to $346,192.18. It is the fourth time the town has hit or surpassed the $300,000 mark in sales tax collections.
The returns are based on July business collections sent to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
According to the state, the town received $29,276.41 in use tax revenue, a $112.61 increase over last year.
Both checks kept the fiscal year total for Henryetta ahead of last year.
Most of the towns in the area reported increases with Dewar and Eufaula the only two communities in the red.
Statewide, the disbursement of $199,381,484 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $15,070,220 from the $184,311,264 distributed to the cities and towns in September last year.
Okmulgee County received $490,450.80, up $35,488 from a year ago. County returns statewide amounted to $34,186,297.
