The up and down trend for Henryetta's sales tax receipts continued with the December check from the state tax commission this week.
Henryetta received $281,228.75 this month. That was a $6,525 drop from a year ago and the fourth decline in the past 12 months.
Two big increases in the monthly sales tax receipts, $70,626 in April and $72,168 in August, gave the town a total of $3,514,266 for the calendar year. That was $140,385 above the same period in 2021.
At the same time, for the first time this year, the city received less in use tax monies than the previous year. The December return was $28,088 compared to $37,930 a year ago.
Henryetta was not the only community showing a decline in sales tax funds. 
Declines were also reported by Dewar, Beggs, Checotah and Morris.
The largest gain in business sales was reported by Eufaula with $24,819 above the same month in 2021.
Statewide, $197,459,402 in sales tax collections were returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $16,092,428 from the $181,366,974 distributed to the cities and towns in December last year.
