A number of area residents are going to have a happier holiday season thanks to the annual effort from the Henryetta Lions Club.
For over 65 years the club has been providing food to needy families around the area so they can have a happier holiday. Along with that are the number of toys given to brighten the eyes of children who might have been facing a barren Christmas tree.
Thursday night members of the Lions Club as well as other volunteers including a number of HHS athletes were packing up the baskets and getting the toys wrapped in preparation for the giveaway.
Those baskets will be picked up Monday at the Henryetta First United Methodist Church from 4 to 6 p.m.
