Gwendolyn Stalbird-Abbott, a resident of Okmulgee, died Feb. 10, 2023 at her home in Okmulgee at the age of 76. She was born Sept. 24, 1946 in Calera to Louis Alexander McCleskey and Stella Elizabeth (Lee) McCleskey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Louis Stalbird, brothers; Oliver Hider, William "Buck" Hider, JC Hider, and Jerry Bell, sisters; Martha Young and Lola "Laverne" Scott, sons; Robert Louis Stalbird Jr., and Frank Woodward, one grandson, Dustin Williams, nephew, Tommy Gene Haney, great niece, LeAnn Beth Haney.
Gwen is survived by her husband Charles "CJ" Abbott of the home; daughters: Lisa Woodward of Okmulgee, Ann Pfeiffer and husband Alan of Sapulpa, Sandy Stevenson and husband Ron of Coweta, Christina Keen and husband Johnny of Leon, Kansas, Trudi Sargent and husband Jason of Choctaw; son; Michael Haney and wife Jarilyn of Okmulgee, and Michael Abbott and wife Dawn of Allen, Tex.; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers Phillip Hider of Durant and David Scott of Okmulgee; grandchildren: Robert Lloyd and wife Misty, Sarah Boolman, Susan Stretch and husband Keith, Jessica Palmer and husband Justin, Rachel Burrow and husband Tony, Joshua Pfeiffer and Fiancé Tiffany Cabrera, Aaron Stevenson and wife Autumn, Matthew Stevenson and fiancé Brittany Phillips, Amanda Heit and husband Jesse, Joseph Keen, Michael Haney Jr. and wife Becka, Karilyn Foreman and husband Daniel, Brandy Haney, Nathan Sargent, Sierra Risner, Bella Sargent, Kiley Risner, Breya Sargent, Asia Abbott, and Auggie Abbott, as well as a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023 at Bennington Cemetery in Bennington with Rev. Thomas Jameson, officiating.
Pallbearers will be Robert Lloyd, Matthew Stevenson, Ron Stevenson, Joseph Keen, Johnny Keen, and Alan Pfeiffer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Haney and David Scott.
