Early voting begins Thursday, March 30, for voters in Okmulgee County. Voters who cannot make it to the polls on Election Day can vote early at their County Election Board. Voters who are registered with an address within the city limit boundaries and/or school district boundaries are eligible to vote in the April 4, 2023, election. The following cities will be on the ballot: Okmulgee, Beggs, Henryetta, and Dewar. The following schools will be on the ballot: Henryetta, Haskell, Midway, Mounds, and Indian Capital Tech Center.
Okmulgee County Election Board Secretary, Ashley Carnes, said early voting is open to all voters. “You do not need to provide an excuse to vote early. Oklahoma allows early voting for all elections conducted through the State Election Board—from the school board and municipal elections to state and federal elections. This is a great option for those who will be out of town on Election Day or who want to avoid long lines,” Carnes said.
Carnes reminds voters that early voting is not available at the polling locations. Early voting begins Thursday, March 30, and Friday, March 31, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Okmulgee County Courthouse in the County Election Board office at 314 W. 7th Street, Room 102, Okmulgee.
