For the third time in the current fiscal year and second time since January, Henryetta received less in sales tax money than the previous year.
A check amounting to $280,195.15 was returned to the town this month. That was $16,272 less than a year ago.
At the same time, Henryetta’s share of use tax revenue was substantially down for the third time since January. This month the town received $28,855.45, a drop of $14,518.05 from a year ago.
The drop in sales tax revenue was also felt in Dewar, Beggs and Okmulgee for April.
Okmulgee picked up a check for $649,411.16 that was a $134,238 from last year.
Dewar’s share this month was $16,229.75, down $965.69 from a year ago.
Beggs city received $42,392.78 this month, a drop of $1,225.53.
The Okmulgee County’s share of sales tax revenue in April amounted to $493,004.37, a gain of $22,598.76 from last year.
Statewide, sales tax collections were above the 2022 returns. A total of $187,412,022 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $8,336,174 from the $179,075,848 distributed to them in April last year.
