A nearly two-hour-long search for a six-year-old Henryetta boy ended happily Tuesday afternoon.
The child was said to have walked away from Henryetta elementary around noon and was found at his home some 15 blocks away from the school.
According to police chief Steve Norman, the boy got out of the playground and left the school area. That prompted a search by law enforcement personnel from Henryetta police, Okmulgee County sheriff's deputies, Creek Lighthorse and volunteers who combed the streets looking for him.
"A lot of people helped in the search and it is heartening to know that so many care enough to spend time driving around," the chief said.
