Castle woman victim of auto-pedestrian accident
A Castle woman died after being struck by a car in Okfuskee County shortly after midnight Saturday.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Lois Gauze, 67, was waking south in the middle of SH 48 north of Castle about 10 minutes after midnight.
She was struck by a car driven by Jesse Ramsey, 59, from IXL who was driving a 1997 Buick northbound.
The OHP said Ramsey told them he was unable to see the woman in the dark prior to the accident.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. The OHP said the driver of the car was not impaired.
