John Eldon Kutz was born July 24, 1944, in Wentworth, Missouri to John and Evelyn Kellhoffer Kutz. He died Aug. 21, 2015 in Tulsa after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 71. John grew up in southwest Missouri. In 1977, he moved to Morris. He worked at Burlington Northern Railroad in Tulsa for 20 years. He retired from Burlington Northern Railroad as a conductor in 1988. Since retirement he has raised cattle and horses. John was a past president and active member of the Okmulgee County Cattleman’s Association.
He is survived by two sons; Chris and his wife Lynn, of Fort Gibson, Marc and his wife Cindy of Morris, two-stepsons, Joe May and wife Karmen, Jeremy Roberts and wife Guyla of Henryetta; three grandchildren; Christain Kutz, and fiancé’ Jacob Semento of Little Rock, Arkansas, Colton and Rachel Kutz of Commerce Township, Michigan and Marcy Kutz of Morris; one Great grandchild, Paxton Kutz, loving companion Tammy Woodward and a host of other family, friends and Railroad crew. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Clarehouse in Tulsa.
Friends may visit the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m.. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Morris with his son, Marc Kutz, officiating, assisted by David Boyett. Interment will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Larry Morris, L.C. Carter, David Boyett, Donnie Vaughn, Lanny Heston, Hoot Sharp, Greg Tardiff and Loyd Cobb.
