The value of working together was presented to Rotary Club members by Henryetta Chamber of Commerce president Lyle Stogner Wednesday.
Speaking at the club's first meeting of the new year, Stogner told Rotarians there is an, "incredible core group in the chamber.
"During the Christmas season I saw more contributions by our citizens. There were more people who stood up and took part".
He singled out Mayor Bill Goodner for his efforts raising money for the candy giveaway as well as decorating the chamber Christmas tree along with city manager Ted Graham.
"We need to give them a pat on the back. need to encourage them and say we want the city to succeed."

Looking ahead, Stogner talked about the chamber banquet coming up Jan. 26. "The theme is 'Back to the Future,' and we are going to take that two ways. I don't want to say too much to keep the surprise."
He pointed out the chamber is trying to make the annual affair more than a place to eat, hear a speech, shake hands and go home. "We want to have fun, want people to look forward to the event."
At the banquet a couple of photographs will be auctioned off. Those were taken by students at Green Country Tech Center then digitally enhanced. "Some of our local high school kids did that," he said.
"We've got a good story to tell, the chamber is financially strong, we have had some good events and have good leadership," he said. Stogner praised current chamber executive director Roy Madden. "His professional and military background will help us."
