Henryetta high cross country senior Daisy VanMeter brought home her second gold medal in two meets Saturday.
She was the winner at the Henryetta meet, crossing the line in the two mile run with a 12:23.44 time. She easily outpaced the number two runner from Regent Preparatory by over a minute. VanMeter was first at the Seminole meet the week before.
Overall, the Lady Knights were third in the Henryetta meet at Nichols Park. Some 900 runners competed during the day including the junior high levels.
Saturday's two mile girls run saw Mya Powders place fifth, Holly Stuart, 37, Kaitlyn Clark, 44, Makenzie Freeman 77 and Brianna Counts 88. There was only eight minutes separating VanMeter and Counts.
In the high school boy's run Saturday Mason Martin came in ninth with a time of 19:47.31. He was followed by Brayden Smithson in 27th place, Nik Pak, 78th and Pepper Logan, 80th.
The girls junior varsity two-mile run was won by Wagoner high school. Henryetta's Cailey rempe finished 32nd in that run.
The boys junior varsity 5K run saw Kalil Lewis finish in 25th place followed by Bailey Graffman, 27th, Micah Lowe, 46th and Jerad Fife, 61st.
