Even though the Henryetta Golf and Country Club Spring Fling was a few weeks late, that did not deter a full field from having fun.
The tournament is held to provide funds for golf course operations and this year, for the first time in several years, fielded a full slate of 72 players. Even though some the annual participants were not on hand, golf course officials were still elated with the turnout. “We lost some players after moving the date from the first weekend in June to July,” said Lanny Moore. “There were some others who were able to play including golfers from Minnesota and New Mexico who wanted to return to Henryetta for the event.”
The team of Billy Torix, Ryan Swallow, Bill Falleur, Jake Glass, Ronnie Coe, jr., and Bo Posey came in first with the Sunday three- and four-ball rounds giving them the win.
Placing second were J.W. VanDenBorn, David Lynn, Shawn Hogner, Lannie Moore, Bruce Chaffer and Max Robinson.
Third place went to Stephen Fox, Bruiser Torix, Jake Stapp, Kevin McCroskey, Billy THompson and Johnny Crabtree.
In fourth were Alan Johnson, Jon Ghani, Tyler Wieland, Ray Tarter, Jimmy Williams and Gene Robinson.
The closest to the pin honors during the weekend went to Greg Flanagan, Alan Johnson, Jimmy Williams, Jerry Dick and Justin Merrick. David Lynn captured the longest drive honors.
