Friday, Oct. 30 has been set for the annual Henryetta Chamber of Commerce “Main Street Halloween” that draws thousands of youngsters downtown.
Starting at 3:30 and ending at 5 p.m., participating merchants will be doling out candy to youngsters all along Main Street.
“Not only do the kids get some treats but it gives our merchants an opportunity to thank their existing customers and introduce themselves to new customers,” said chamber executive director Roy Madden.
He encouraged everyone to wear masks and try to be as creative as possible with them.
In addition to the candy and treats, the Henryetta Lions Club is going to be making up for lost ground.
Usually the Lions members hide Easter eggs filled with candy and prizes at Nichols Park. This year, club members will be given them away to the trick or treaters. Prizes include gold coins and even bicycles. The club will have a table in front of The Briefcase on Main Street.
