A decade-long Henryetta Thanksgiving tradition has fallen victim to the coronavirus pandemic.
Hundreds of people have gathered at the Henryetta First United Methodist Church for Thanksgiving dinner and enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors.
This year those visits will not be possible.
Instead the church is going to hold the dinner but will make it a drive-through event instead.
From noon to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day the church will provide a meal of turkey, ham, and all the fixings but those wishing to participate will be driving up and taking it with them.
“We know this is disappointing,” said pastor Kyle Clark. “This is a service to our community that we want to continue but we also want to make sure everyone stays safe.”
There is no charge for the dinner.
