The Henryetta Middle School girls battled back up the brackets in their own tournament to come away with thirst place Saturday.
Back to back home runs in the final inning gave the girls the 9-8 win over Preston for the championship.
Henryetta started with a 22-2 mauling against Kellyville Saturday morning but lost a 12-11 heartbreaker to Muskogee. That put them in the consolation brackets forcing a four-game series of wins.
That included a 7-2 win against Haskell, 9-4 victory over Tulsa Union then shutting out Muskogee 11-0 setting the stage for the championship contest.
“I am proud fo the way the girls came back,” said coach Ryan Swallow. They wanted the win and proved it in every game.”
