Henryetta Middle School Knights took the lead late for a 19-5 victory over Beggs on Monday. The game was tied at five with Knights batting in the top of the fourth when Mavrix Randleman drew a walk, scoring one run.
Beggs scored a trio of runs in the third inning, the largest for the young Golden Demons in the game.
Henryetta got on the board in the first inning when Skylar Greenhaw drew a walk, scoring one run.
In the fifth, Henryetta scored nine runs led by Blaze Hill, Hunter Bowdler, Boston Morris, Nakona Johnson, Gavin Williams, and Randleman, all driving in runs in the inning.
Johnson got the win for Knights. The pitcher went one inning, allowing three runs on two hits, striking out two and walking one. Bowdler threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Henryetta tallied 13 hits on the day. Tayler Hamric, Morris, Williams, and Johnson each racked up multiple hits for Knights. Hamric led Knights with three hits in three at bats. Knights stole 14 bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Williams led the way with six. Knights was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. William Perez had the most chances in the field with ten.
