When the 2020-21 school year starts Jayme Matlock will be in her new office at the Henryetta middle school.
School board members officially hired the 1995 HHS graduate to fill the position left vacant earlier this month when long-time principal Brad Wion announced his retirement.
Matlock currently serves as the elementary principal, a position she has held for the past three years.
Prior to filling the role first as assistant elementary principal then as principal, she was a classroom teacher.
Following the announcement at a special school board meeting Monday morning, Matlock said she is looking forward to the position.
She is married to Patrick Matlock and they are the parents of two sons, Isaac and Connor.
