February was not a good month for Henryetta sales tax collections. The town was one of two in the area that reported a decline in revenue from sales
Henryetta reported a $31,418 decline in city sales tax amounting to $225,841 compared to $247,260 for the same month a year ago. It was the second drop this calendar year.
Still on the plus side, Henryetta received a $24,837 use tax check, up $3,300 from February of last year.
The town of Weleetka was the only other community reporting a drop in sales tax collections. The town received $17,741 this year compared with $22,136 a year ago, a decline of $3,392.
Dewar’s sales tax check in April amounted to $12,664, a gain of $1,079 from a year ago.
Okmulgee was the biggest gainer with sales tax collections amounting to $783,640. A year ago, Okmulgee received $497,279, a $286,370 difference.
Morris received 414,231 compared to $16,415; Beggs received $39,284, a gain over $36,056 last year. Checotah’s sales tax check amounted to $374,034, up from the $335,805 from 2020 while Eufaula picked up $188,758, a gain over the $155,823 last year.
Statewide, the April distribution of $144,355,807 was a decrease of $2,575,267 from the $146,931,074 distributed to the cities and towns in April last year
